NBMS January Newsletter
From The Principal
We got good results from our December benchmarks. We have set goals with every student and will continue to push students to excel and reach their goals. This week students will be given a goals folder to track their progress from now until the STAAR test. Please ask your student about their goals and ask them periodically how their progress is going. Our school goal is that EVERY student improves from their previous score. GROWTH is important to us as individuals.
Your student was recently given a letter about federal accountability and a survey so that we can assess how we are doing and areas we can improve in. Please take a little time over the next few days to fill out the survey and send it back to school with your student. GROWTH is also important to us as a school.
We have started Accelerated Reader at New Boston Middle School. This program will not be based on grades, but instead, is an incentive to push students to read. Reading is the foundation to all subjects. Students will have a point goal for each month and will be rewarded for meeting that goal.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. It is a great day to be a LION!
Sincerely,
Lindsay Skinner
