San Antonio Public Library presents: The Mayor's Summer Reading Club
Summer Reading Club is from June 1-August 31, 2020
Virtual programming, including special guest presenters
Program completion prizes: a brand new book for children 0-12, a t-shirt for teens, or a notebook and free gently used book for adults while supplies last and according to social distancing guidelines as directed by the City of San Antonio and San Antonio Public Library leadership. Sora Sweet Reads program will offer a collection of Juvenile and Young Adult titles that will be prominently displayed in Sora for quick and easy unlimited access.
Sora provides the quickest and easiest way to get started with digital titles from our school. Students can simply log in using school credentials and instantly access hundreds of ebooks and audiobooks on virtually any device.

Veritas Press Reading Contest
It begins now and continues through September 15, 2020. All participants receive a gift certificate at the end of the contest and a drawing will be held for three grand prize winners.
We only ask that you as parents or teachers verify what the children have read, and then, after they have met their goals. Please fill out form
Reading Quantity
- Kindergarten – 2nd Grade: 40 Easy Readers (ex., Frog and Toad are Friends)
- 3rd & 4th Grades: 25 books of at least 125 pages (ex., The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe)
- 5th & 6th Grades: 25 books of at least 150 pages (ex., Treasure Island)
- 7th – 12th Grades: 25 books of at least 200 pages (ex., The Fellowship of the Ring)

Scholastic Home Base
For 2020, Scholastic Home Base, a free digital destination which offers full books, live events, and games in a safe community for readers! Kids will be encouraged to track their reading streaks™ to earn rewards and unlock book donations, with the goal of donating 100,000 books by July!
