JEGB Approves Resolution for April 6 Bond Election
On January 25, the Normandy Schools Collaborative Joint Executive Governing Board approved a resolution to add a bond issue on the April 6 ballot.
To address the district’s long-term facility needs, NSC voters are being asked to consider Proposition V, a $26.5 million no-tax-rate increase general obligations bond, and Proposition T to increase the operating tax levy ceiling by $0.58 cents.
“Both Propositions V and T will provide funds to make needed improvements and upgrades at Normandy High School,” said Marcus Robinson, Normandy superintendent of schools. “Normandy High School is the flagship campus of our district and the place where our students make their most cherished memories. We want to make these upgrades and enhancements to increase safety and security, and just as importantly, the learning environments for students and staff.”

It's Winter in the STL - Communicating School Closings
This week has been a welcome break from the brutal winter weather of earlier this month. But it's still February in St. Louis and we will need to communicate with teachers, staff and parents when school will be virtual or if we do need to cancel classes due to inclement weather or other emergency situations.
Changes to the school schedule and school closings will be shared with staff and families using the following communications channels:
- Phone/Email/Text
- Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Website - www.normandysc.org
- New District Mobile App (available in the Apple and Google Play app stores, more info below)
- Local media outlets - KMOV-TV/Ch. 4, KSDK-TV/Ch. 5, KTVI-TV/Ch. 2, KMOX Radio/1120 AM
If staff are not getting messages via phone or text, they may need to update their contact information with Human Resources.
For more information: Sharifah Sims-Williams, Communications
New Normandy Mobile App Now Available
Normandy is launching a new mobile app, a new communications tool for families, students and staff to stay in touch and keep abreast of important information in the district.
This free mobile app is available to any smartphone user via the Google Play or Apple App stores. Just search "Normandy Schools Collaborative" and look for the image at the left. Parents and staff will have the ability to select which school(s) they want to receive information from when they download the app.

COVID Vaccine Update from St. Louis County
St. Louis County has received 6,000 vaccine doses from the state of Missouri. That delivery contained last week’s doses, which were delayed by the weather, as well as this week’s doses. Over the next seven days, we intend to administer 6,000 first doses and 3,000 second doses for a total of 9,000 vaccinations. That will be a new record for St. Louis County.
In the future the county expects to receive 3,000 doses per week, an amount that should grow once the state receives more vaccine supply. County officials are building capacity to administer up to 10,000 doses per week.
Vaccinations will be available at the John. C. Murphy health center in Berkeley, the Florissant Valley campus of St. Louis Community College in Ferguson, and fire district sites in Affton, Bridgeton, Eureka, Maryland Heights, Mehlville and Pattonville. All vaccinations are by appointment only.
The Department of Public Health now recommends that residents register with multiple vaccinators to have the best chance at getting an appointment.
- First, register with St. Louis County by visiting stlcorona.com. Click on the vaccine registration link.
- Second, register on the state’s vaccine navigator site. Go to covidvaccine.mo.gov and click on “register now.”
- Third, register on area hospital websites. All of our region’s hospital systems are taking registrations from the public.
- Finally, contact local pharmacies. Some locations may become approved vaccination sites.
While multiple registrations are recommended, it’s important to only accept one appointment.
This information is being shared as a public service to the community. These offerings are not affiliated with Normandy Schools Collaborative.
