HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 4 Week 3 - 27 October
FROM MARK:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
If you were at the Interschool Athletics Carnival on Thursday you would have seen a big number of Holy Rosary students giving absolutely of their very best. It was a fantastic day and every student involved is to be congratulated, as is Rob Flexman our teacher of Physical Education, who arranged the before school training sessions for the children and to Julie Catherall who assisted with the training. Rob, another major effort, thank you.
But wait, there's more! Many of our children have been training for the Hale Triathlon on Tuesday, and many for the Interschool Triathlon on Friday. We wish them well and again, our thanks to Rob and Julie for training them. David Broadway, one of our dads who is a professional photographer has taken some amazing pictures which can be found on the Holy Rosary Facebook page. With 295 followers it is proving very popular. If you haven't joined yet you might like to. Let's see if we can crack 300!
Thank you to the parents who attended the Holy Rosary Community (formerly P&F) meeting on Tuesday night. These meetings are so important for those attending to get a sense of what is happening – in relation to the HRC as well as the school. The ideas and the feedback are really valuable. Survey responses with suggestions for next year were much appreciated.
Many children will be receiving the Sacrament of Penance on Saturday. Please keep them in your prayers. Later in the newsletter you will find a great picture of Father Peter and some of the children who received the sacrament last week.
Have a good weekend
Mark de Kluyver
Principal

CLASS ARRANGEMENTS 2018
Lists go up on class doors on Friday November 24. I understand that some parents have been anxious about which class their child will be in next year. Please, trust the teachers involved in the process. They take their children very seriously. They know the dynamics well and make the right arrangements accordingly. If parents are not careful, this matter can affect a term which should be great fun, by spoiling it with parent anxiety transferring to the children.
Thank you!
SCHOOL FEES
Thank you to families who have paid the school fee account in full.
As there is still a considerable amount of school fees outstanding, payment is required as soon as possible.
THE SACRAMENT OF PENANCE
INTER SCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
Today’s inter-school athletics carnival could easily have been mistaken for a swimming carnival with wet kids, dripping teachers and soggy parents! But spirits were not dampened and Holy Rosary put in a fine performance. Well done everyone and a big thank you to Mr Flexman for organising everything so brilliantly - except maybe the weather ;-)
A big thank you to Innika’s dad, David Broadway, for the fabulous professional photos! (www.davidbroadway.com.au)
Please see our Facebook page for the Inter school Athletics Album.

LIBRARY NEWS
It’s been a great start to term 4! We’ve congratulated our Senior Chess Champions James Lockyer, Ben Butson and Nicholas Pereira at assembly, and celebrated our amazing volunteer Chess Umpires at a special thank you morning tea. I will be looking for more year 5 and 6 Umpires next year. The WAYRBA raffle has been drawn – congrats to Ruby McAdam and Alyssa Petracca, and votes have been posted – I wonder which book will be the winner of the WA Young Readers Book Awards? Keep an eye on our Competitions wall in the library for all info including the Australian Chess Championships in Melbourne in January. Happy Reading!
