College fair at Port Townsend High School Friday 9/29 1:00pm
On Friday, 9/29 there is a college fair at Port Townsend High School. Several colleges, most of them located in Washington, will be available for students to visit with and ask questions. Students can be dropped off at PTHS at 1 PM and picked up at 2 PM at PTHS if they want to attend.
Attendance
Families should report excused student absences to the OCEAN office at oceanattendance@ptschools.org or by calling the main office.
Online Program attendance is taken weekly on Monday. In addition to making progress in online coursework students must make two way contact with their conferencing teacher each week. If a student did not make contact the previous week they will be marked absent on Monday. Families will receive a notification unless the absence was excused for the week.
Healthy Youth Survey
Our school is participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey during fall 2023. The survey will be given to students in Grades 6 through 12. The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, sexual behaviors, abuse, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities, and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks. Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous. There are no codes or information used to match a survey to a student. Please read the attached Parent and Student Notification Letter for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey.
Last Call to Complete Skyward Back to School Forms
All families should log into Skyward user their guardian login and complete back to school forms. If you do not know your guardian login you can contact the OCEAN office.
Back to school forms include the option to opt out of sharing your directory information. Starting on October 1 we will be creating the OCEAN school directory that shares students names, and guardian phone and emails. This is a great resource for building community, but we know that not everyone wants their information shared. Opt out by completing the Skyward form or completing a paper form in the OCEAN office.
