A Message From the Principal

DHES Families,


Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is January 16th—No School Monday. Make it a day on rather than a day off. Find opportunities to learn and serve together.


Wednesday morning next week we will be hosting an MLK assembly entitled 11 days in the life of Dr. King. 11 Days chronicles Dr. King’s life and legacy through eleven poetry vignettes featuring spoken word, dance, music, shadow play, and historic images. This show focuses on King’s relationship with communities, how he challenged and changed our nation, and his message to honor the dignity and rights of every citizen and person. Ultimately, the show challenges the audience to continue Dr. King’s mission and legacy each and every day. We want to thank the PTA for funding this great opportunity for our students. The assembly will be an interactive show put on by Tacoma Arts Live.


At this time we have one full time paraeducator position open to support our students in multiple areas. This is primarily classroom support and is designed to work within regular student school hours.. Please see the district website for details and the opportunity to apply.

Dieringer Cougar Cub Preschool Registration Opens January 17, 2023

In preparation for the 2023-2024 school year, the Dieringer Cougar Cub Preschool is accepting registration materials between January 17 and February 15, 2023. You will find instructions for registering and additional information on our website. There are a limited number of spaces available in our preschool program. A lottery will be held on February 16th to select students for enrollment.


Timeline:

  • 1/17 Registration opens online

  • 2/15 Registration Closes

  • 2/16 Lottery 6:00 pm (Virtual)

  • 2/17 Selected families notified

  • 4/3 Deposit/payment due

Any spots still open after 4/3 will become available to the next child on the waitlist.
