A Cow visits Grade 1
Congratulations to Cadence Vincent for her winning entry.
Our students were so thrilled to win a visit from a real cow!
Water Status
Charlestown Elementary School completed a system wide flushing on Friday 5/18/2018 under direction from RIDOH. We have results back from the water samples collected on 5/21/2018.
Seven (7) interior taps sampled inside the school, including the two sites sampled 5/16/2018, had lead results between non-detect (<1 ppb) and 8 ppb. These values are below the EPA lead action level of 15 ppb.
Results from both wells before water treatment remain above the EPA lead action level of 15 ppb.
Per the Department of Health, Charlestown School will remain on bottled water pending the determination of the elevated levels.
Class Placement
Current classroom teachers in grades K-3 have been working on preliminary class placements for next year. Teachers consider the best learning needs for each child as they make recommendations for student placement.
Poetry Slam is June 11th...Please return flyer if your child is participating
Is your child missing any clothing? We have lots of items in LOST AND FOUND by the Caf.
Some items are now on display on the stage.
Spring Weather Recommendations
- Dress your child in layers as the temperatures change during the day
- Put sunscreen on at home before school
- Bring a refillable water bottle
- Select footwear that is safe for running - NO FLIP FLOPS please
End of Year Events and Field Trips
All parents who chaperone trips and Field Day must have a current background check.
Field Trips are an extension of the school day and we expect students to attend.
