Parent Blast - November 22, 2021

Conferences Today and Tomorrow

This week we have virtual conferences starting today (Monday) that will run from 4:00-8:00 pm and then tomorrow from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. These conferences will last approximately 20-25 minutes. Please be mindful of time as our teachers need 5 minutes in-between conferences to log information and set up for the next conference.

During this time staff will ask you a few check-in questions to see how your child is doing and what supports/resources may be needed. They will share what they are observing in regards to your child's engagement in school now that we are back in the building and if time permits may share some current data. Please view our ParentVue instruction below so you can access your child's grades and progress outside of the conference at any time.

If you have difficulty joining a conference, please reach out to Mrs. Lentz -

Picture Re-Take Day

Please email or call our office manager, Melissa, to verify that all steps are completed prior to reaching out to your child's teacher to schedule your volunteer time. We will be considering spacing inside the classroom and may ask that you work in the hallway, workroom, etc. to ensure maximum spacing in our classrooms for student learning. Volunteers will need to wear a mask and maintain 6' distancing. Once you are all cleared and scheduled to come into the building, please make sure you sign in/out at our computer just inside our main doors.

ParentVUE Reminder

Activate your ParentVUE account!

ParentVUE is a tool for parents to access real-time information related to their student’s education progress. You can view your student’s schedule, attendance, grades, assignments and more. ParentVUE is also used on an annual basis at the start of each school year to verify student and family information. One parent/guardian from each family will be expected to complete the verification process. Keeping your family’s information up to date is crucial to receiving communication from the Hillsboro School District, as well as attendance and emergency notifications. Click here to login to your ParentVUE account for the first time. This one account will give you access to all of your children in the Hillsboro School District. At least one parent/guardian in each family should activate a ParentVUE account. ParentVUE mobile app is available for download from the iTunes Store and Google Play. Please contact your student's school if you have any questions.

  • Mr. Hedges, Mrs. Volk, and Ms. Delplanche will be getting pies in the face!
  • Mr. Kreisher, Mr. Twigg, and Mrs. Godsey will be getting a slime bucket over their heads!
  • To top it all off Mrs. Lentz will be doing all of the above PLUS she will be working from the roof in a costume!

Below you will find the links for each teacher and support staff's classroom wish lists. The items on the lists have been requested by the teachers to help supply their classrooms. Click the link under the teacher's name to review and sign-up for any items. Any purchased items can be delivered directly to the teacher or support staff member.

T.A.G or Talented and Gifted is a program you qualify for with multiple pieces of evidence that place the child in the top 97% percentile or above. If you have evidence that places your child in that top 3%, please reach out to Mrs. Godsey:

Parents are welcome to refer their child for services designed for students identified as talented and gifted. Students who score at or above the 97th percentile on a nationally standardized, norm-referenced test of overall reading or math or on a mental abilities test, and have other confirming evidence that they learn at a rapid rate and advanced level, are identified as TAG students. With parent input, individual plans are made to adjust the rate and level of the student’s instruction to meet his or her specific needs.

If you think your child may qualify for TAG services, and want information about the referral and identification process, please contact Mrs. Godsey.

Godsey.
