Math
In Math, we will take our 4th quarter assessment on Wednesday, May 18th. This test will cover money, financial literacy, telling time, measurement, graphs, fractions (equal and unequal parts), addition and subtraction. Dove Whisper has great online games to review these skills: http://www.dovewhisper.com/1st_Grade/1st_Grade_Math.html
Science
This week, we will have Watermelon Week. We will learn the life cycle of watermelons, parts of watermelon, and the origin of watermelons. We will also have taste testing and graph the results. We will predict how many rubber bands will cut a watermelon. We will observe the force that the rubber bands have on the watermelon.

Thank you for all your support this year. We will no longer have math homework, but there are great educational apps and websites to continue practicing skills. I love abcya.com, dovewhisper.com, and oswego.org because they are free and cover the basics plus more!
