Valley Catholic encourages Excellence in Everything and Opportunity for Everyone. As always, we encourage students to participate in as many sports as possible and we do have a no-cut policy.

We realize that sports overlap 1–2 weeks this year, but our coaches will work with athletes so they can finish one season while preparing and participating in the next season. This year more than ever lets create as many memories as possible and let’s support ALL of our VC athletic teams!

Continuation of VC Season 1 Activities

As a result of the OSAA Calendar changes, the OSAA has extended Season 1 activities until February 21st, 2021. As of December 14th, Valley Catholic has paused ALL on-campus and in-person workouts for all students and VC teams until January 11th.

ALL VC facilities are CLOSED, including ALL outdoor facilities during winter break. Due to Covid-19 protocols and the safety and health of all our VCS students, staff and the Sisters’ we appreciate you respecting this closure.

Following the current guidance of the OHA, ODE, Governor’s office and the OSAA, Valley Catholic is planning to resume on-campus Season 1 activities (as we did in the fall) starting January 11th. Today’s guidance might be different than January 11th. We will follow the current state and county guidance in accordance with our campus administration.

The following schedule will be utilized with Coaches from each sport identifying workout dates and times during the two-week block for each athletic program. The athletic office will be contacting students, families with further information and any additional steps required to participate in the Season 1 workouts starting January 11th, 2021.

o SPRING SPORTS – WEEKS OF JAN 11TH & JAN 18TH

o FALL SPORTS – WEEKS OF JAN 25TH & FEB 1ST

o WINTER SPORTS – WEEKS OF FEB 8TH – FEB 15TH

Required OSAA Sports Physicals

Oregon State Law requires all high school students to have a current sports physical every two years. Physicals are valid for two years from the date they are issued.

The physicals must be completed on the OSAA-sanctioned form and on file in the Valley Catholic High School Athletic Office prior to the first day of any team practice, including Season One actvities.

The required OSAA form, which must be used to complete the sports physical, can be found here http://www.osaa.org/docs/forms/PhysicalExamination-English2017.pdf

If you have any questions on whether your sports physical is current or not please email assistant athletic director Kelly Alfieri at kalfieri@valleycatholic.org or Joel Sobotka at jsobotka@valleycatholic.org
