Mission Statement
The Eucharistic community of Saint Paschal Baylon Catholic School
focuses on Christ-centered values and develops the unique potential of each student
through a rigorous and engaging curriculum.
An Important message from the Principal
Dear SPB families,
Thank you for all that you are doing to help your child’s transition to remote learning. We knew that this was a possibility, and I am grateful to our teachers for preparing our kids in advance for this scenario. Our students have demonstrated their adaptability and resilience as well, and I am so proud of their efforts. We continue to keep all those affected by COVID-19 in our prayers every day.
With the surge in positive cases as well as the significant increase in the positivity rate in our local community, we have made the decision to extend our closure and continue remote learning through Thanksgiving break with a tentative return of Monday, November 30. We met as an administrative team and consulted with physicians on our Responsive Return Plan Committee who have a pulse on what is happening in our community, in their offices, and in hospitals. All felt strongly that this was the best decision based on what is happening with COVID. We will continue to monitor the situation just as schools and administrators are throughout Ohio and the country. Please know that this closure may have to be extended depending on how the virus is progressing. We know that this is challenging for families, but the health and safety of our students and faculty/staff is our greatest priority.
Sincerely,
Diane Raguz, Principal
COVID-19 Travel Advisory
With the holidays quickly approaching, we know that families may be traveling out of state. We need your help to ensure that we can offer in-person learning safely. If your family travels to a state that is on the Ohio Department of Health's COVID-19 Travel Advisory List, it is recommended by ODH that your child quarantine for 14 days upon return. The states on the list have a positivity rate of 15% or higher. The list of states is updated every Wednesday. The most recent one can be found here. Thank you!

Blood Drive-Sunday, November 22nd
St. Paschal Baylon will have its next blood drive on Sunday, Nov. 22nd, from 8:00am to 1:30pm in the Eymard Room. Blood donors are always ESSENTIAL . . . and the American Red Cross makes this an opportunity to earn money for our school, as well! SPB School will receive $10 in grant money for every unit of blood collected at this drive.
Because of the restrictions on gathering size (due to COVID precautions), all donors are asked to schedule appointments in advance. This can be done online at: www.redcrossblood.org/give (sponsor code: stpaschal), or by calling 1-800-RED-CROS. Walk-in donors may be taken if there are time slots available, but you may be asked to return at a later time. Face masks and social distancing will also be required.
All donated blood is tested for COVID-19 antibodies, and results will be available to you via your donor account. (Please note this is NOT a diagnostic COVID test! Anyone who feels ill or thinks they may have been exposed to the virus should stay home!)
Donating blood is a great way to help both our community and our school. Please give blood if you can!
5th & 6th Grade Parents-We Need YOU!
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:15 am-12:50 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
COVID-19 Volunteer Protocol: all recess volunteers are required to wear a mask and complete the Visitor Self-Screening form when they arrive at school.
