Latest from the Library!

January 2016

What's Happening!

Harman's library has had a fantastic first half of the school year. We have checked out over 10,200 books since August! We received a large shipment of new books with the latest titles before holiday break and those are now in circulation. A special thank you to the PTO for the purchase of five new i-Pads specifically for use in our library. We will be exploring digital book trailers which is experienced by just holding the device over a library book, along with Augmented Reality and Q-codes. Fourth graders experienced their first "Book Tasting" which was a great success. It was enjoyed with great excitement, intrigue & enthusiasm. Students were given 5 minutes to "taste" & preview new titles. Books came from a variety of different genres including adventure, fantasy, non-fiction, historical fiction, mystery and humor/graphic novels. It was a great way for students to push their comfort zones, practice flexibility & preview a plethora of titles in a short time. Check out some pictures of our tasting below!
