Congratulations and Clubs and Activities
Dear ASMS Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you enjoying our first fall weekend. What a glorious weekend - I hope you have found time to take a walk , go apple picking or to make time to watch a sporting event! Go Pats!
I know that each of you join me in wishing Beckie Motte the best as she embarks on this next leg of her education journey as she assumes the principalship of Horace Mann Middle School. As she noted in her communication to you on Friday, she will be just down the street and I look forward to continuing to work with her.
As you know we are well underway with our busy after school club schedule. It is wonderful to see so many of our students excited and enthusiastic about all of the offerings. We are well underway with Intramurals, Art Club, Book Clubs, Directed Study, Engineering, SIMS, Ultimate Frisbee, Spanish Club and Golf Club. Be on the lookout for Environmental Club, Friends of Rachel, Chess/Games Club and Drama Club starting this week and next. Please check the Daily Announcements in the Parent Link on the webpage until we get our Club descriptions and meeting days updated. We have several new clubs this year and need to update the link.
I ask that if your child is participating in one or more club(s) that you please make your one time payment of $50. You can pay either on line at https://unipaygold.unibank.com/default.aspx?customerid=756 or if you prefer you can send in a check in the amount of $50 made out to the Town of Franklin. Remember this is a one time fee and your child can participate in as many clubs as he/she can fit in to his/her schedule. Please note that this fee helps offset the cost of offering all of the clubs. Prompt payment is greatly appreciated and payment is due no later that Friday, October 9th in order for your child to continue participating.
Please check the webpage (in the Morning Announcement Section) if you need to double check the day of the week on which the the club takes place. Club reminders are made everyday in the morning announcements and students are asked to make note in their agenda books.
If you are interested in prepaying for your child's school lunches you can make payment
On a final note I found an interesting blog on how to make every week back to school week. Five simple actions you can take each week to help your child have a great week every week!
In the meantime if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at 508.553.0322.
