Faculty Focus
May 22, 2020
Happy Three-Day Weekend!
I actually went into the building today to take care of a few things I couldn't do from home. While I was there I took a walk through to view all of the work that has been completed in person. It really looks terrific. DPW has done a great job, and they are still working on things. I have a few reminders below. I hope you enjoy the well-deserved break!
The Weekly Overview for May 26-29 will be sent out Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m.
Wednesday Staff Meeting
On May 27 we will have a presentation by the Instructional Leadership Team about the work that has been accomplished related to development of a Sustainable Improvement Plan. If we have the good fortune of receiving guidance from DESE on re-opening, I will share information, and also will provide whatever other updates are available.
O'Maley Remote Learning Advisory Committee
Thank you to all of you who voiced interest in being on the Remote Learning Advisory Committee. There were so many that we unfortunately had to turn some down. However, I hope we can count on everyone to give much needed input as things move forward with the planning. The committee members are a mix of representatives from various subjects, grades, levels of teaching experience and technology knowledge. Here is a list of participants:
Allison Alves, Michelle Bailey, Dave Brown, Theresa Dannaher, Amy Donnelly, Ardis Francoeur, Pat Hand, Kathy Interrante, Adrienne Marden, Amy Natola, Leslie Sellers, Austin Sousa
The committee will convene next week. I look forward to working with all of the the members as well as gathering input from all of you for what ever comes our way.
Parenting During a Pandemic
If you missed the first session last night, try to make the second, Thursday, May 27th at 7:00 p.m. The panel, including our own Becky Wetter, was fabulous and it was an informative session. Thank you to GEF for sponsoring!

Purchasing for 2020-2021
Purchase Orders - Due to Christine by June 15th
Over the next few weeks, please finalize orders for next year. If you submitted a wish list in December when I was preparing an estimated budget, please review it to be sure your requests remain the same. You cannot go over the amount you requested, but can change items on your list. Quotes must be included, and must include shipping costs.
Please Make a Copy and use the PO Request Form (also on the Info Hub) to submit your actual request. These must be complete and submitted to Christine before June 15th.
Reimbursement for Purchases - IMPORTANT
GPS will no longer reimburse for purchases of any kind. Please make sure you plan ahead for necessary purchases with approved vendors so that a PO can be approved and issued in time for the purchase to be made. If a company is not a vendor, Christine can assist with getting them on the vendor list...as long as they comply with necessary paperwork to do that.
Stipend Positions for 2020-2021
Thank you to those of you who have put your names in for positions. Please see the attached list as a reminder of the positions: Stipend Positions 2020-2021. I have more takers than needed for some positions, and am still seeking teachers for: Teacher Leadership Advisory (Grade 6, Grade 8, Specialist), Math Olympiad (6) and Mathletics (7/8) and Extended Day (One open for each: ELA/SS and Math/Sci).
Please notify me by June 1 if you are interested in a stipend position next year. I will confirm positions after that time.
Please note: If we continue with remote instruction or a hybrid, we will explore how we might provide opportunities like Homework Club, Extended Day, etc. as well as some of the others.
