MUSICAL CONCERT WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7
Dear Musical Families, It has been a pleasure working with your children this spring in preparation for our upcoming concert. The students have been working very hard and are excited to share the joy of music-making with you. This year's concert will be a joint concert with chorus, orchestra, band, and keyboards. It will be held in the Mansfield High School Auditorium. The concert will begin at 6:30pm. The auditorium will open up for seating at approximately 6:15.
Participating students should arrive at the high school as follows:
Chorus: 5:45 pm
Orchestra: 5:30 pm
Band: 5:45 pm
Keyboards: 6:00 pm
If students perform in more than one group, they should arrive at the earlier time listed. For example, if your student is in both chorus and orchestra, they should arrive at 5:30pm.

PLACEMENT LETTERS - DUE THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 9
Dear Families,
Robinson and Jordan/Jackson teachers and administrators will undergo a comprehensive placement process for the next school year. Our families have an important role in helping us understand their student’s needs.
As we work to streamline the process, we are utilizing the benefits of Google Forms to collect your input. If you would like to share your thoughts regarding your child’s learning experience for the upcoming school year:
Request a link to the Family Placement Letter Form by emailing robinsonplacement@mansfieldschools.com (Grades K, 1 and 2) or jjplacement@mansfieldschools.com (Grades 3, 4 & 5).
Once we receive your email request we will send you a link to the Form.
Within the Form, you will be asked to respond to a few brief questions and have the opportunity to submit a detailed response, outlining your considerations.
If you are unable to complete the electronic placement letter form or would prefer to send a letter, please email your letter to robinsonplacement@mansfieldschools.com or jjplacement@mansfieldschools.com. You may also mail the letter to the appropriate school.
We kindly ask that all placement requests be submitted by Friday, June 9.

FIELD DAY THIS WEEK - JUNE 8 (RAIN DATE: JUNE 9)
A NOTE FROM OUR NURSES.......
Students must wear sneaker and socks for field day. Sneakers provide much more support to the foot and ankle during physical activity. There will be many fun activities such as 3-legged races and obstacle courses; we want everyone to be safe and injury-free!
Please apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school. We are hoping to enjoy a nice, sunny day and want to be sure all students are sufficiently protected. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us.
FIELD DAY INFORMATION AND SCHEDULE
MESA has planned some very fun games and events such as homerun derby, pool noodle hockey, a few obstacle courses, and some craft tables. With field day only two weeks away and volunteers being such a critical part of this event, MESA is looking for volunteers to run the field day stations, especially for morning events and for the June 9 rain date. They need dozens of volunteers for each session to ensure things run smoothly. You can sign up for the scheduled date, the rain date, or both as your schedule allows using the links below. June tends to be rainy, and it helps to find volunteers for the rain dates now so we don't have to scramble to find volunteers in the event of a postponement.
Schedule for Classes on Thursday, June 8 is as follows (same schedule for June 9 rain date):
Morning Session: Enright, Fox, Murphy, Conroy, D'Onofrio, Parker, Shruhan, Norige, Samrout, McGee, Pasquale, O'Connell, Ulrich
Afternoon Session: Chiappone, Ewick, Risotti, LePage, Battell, Reeder, Freedman, Haapaoja, Slarve, Tighe, Franklin, Gentili, Lagerstedt, Shevlin, Curry, Mansfield, Keller, DeAngelis, Logan, Ouwinga, Scott

Math Fact Mentor Appreciation Breakfast
On Friday, May 26th, an appreciation breakfast was held for 49 fifth grade Math Fact Mentors. These students were selected to help third and fourth graders master their multiplication facts because of their consistent achievement in math and demonstrated leadership qualities. The mentors enjoyed breakfast together in the mulit-purpose room, heard words of appreciation from JJ administrators, received certificates and a small gift, and took a chance at winning some fun raffle items. Thank you to all of our Math Fact Mentors for positively impacting the Jordan/Jackson community and to Suzanne Carey and Michael Cripps for organizing and working with our mentors and staff.
JORDAN/JACKSON'S COMMUNITY PROJECTS
STEAM DAY AT XFINITY CENTER
On Wednesday, May 31, 2023 students in Ms. Fox, Mrs. Lagerstedt, Ms. Murphy and Mrs. Shevlin’s third grade classes had the opportunity to participate in a variety of STEAM activities, designed to support the Massachusetts Grade 3 Learning Standards, at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield. Activities were led by Jordan/Jackson teachers, Mansfield High School students and Xfinity Center staff. Tasks included a math estimation project, kindness rocks, backstage tour, a design challenge, and planting in a dedicated Jordan Jackson School Garden space. Students enjoyed this unique learning experience!
A special thank you to Jason Sandoval (General Manager) and
Sara Shevlin (Operations Manager) from the Xfinity Center for their time and generosity in hosting this event.
Working Together with Our Daily Bread
Dr. Freedman’s 5th grade secret agents spent the school year engaged in a service learning project with Our Daily Bread. With the help of our community, they raised $503! They went to the Big Y to purchase goods that were needed for the pantry.
Dr. Freedman’s secret agents also went on a walking field trip to Our Daily Bread. They brought 171.1 pounds of goods to help their community! They learned about what the pantry does, how it works, and it’s history. Mansfield is lucky to have such an amazing resource to support our community.
