Maverick Minutes
Week of 11/30-12/4
Welcome December!
I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable break. It is crazy that we are entering the week of December and the weather feels more like August! We are three weeks shy of our next holiday break and the time will fly. I am as excited as you all are to begin the festivities and I know you will be incorporating that into your classes! I encourage you to do whatever you need to do to keep them focused and learning. The students will be ready for the break and as much as you can keep a routine and structure...with some fun too will be beneficial to all! Buckle up! The next few weeks are going to breeze through so fast...keep a pace and set the goals you want to accomplish. Let administration know if we can help in any of the craziness during this time of year!
Staff Holiday Gathering
There is still time to pay and even RSVP if you would still like to join us Thursday evening at Great Wolf Lodge. This is a time we want to give an evening back to you and enjoy the fellowship. Please join us Thursday, December 3 from 7-9ish as we celebrate the holiday season.
Mathematical Magic!
I had the opportunity to observe great mathematical practices before the break across HiRMS. Mrs. Seidel's students managed to capture transversals and angles with twizzlers and skittles; Mr. Van Eseltine reviewing with students thinking outside of the box and Mrs. Dewulf honing in on the order of operation in hopscotch form! In each visit, students were engaged, enthusiastic and eager to learn! Great job teachers!!!!
The Canvas Challenge!
The Canvas Challenge needs to be completed by December 18th. Please see any admin or Mr. Nichols if you need assistance.
You Can't Catch Me, I'm the Gingerbread Man...
Currently we have 15 ambitious builders/teams for this contest! There is still time if you would like to participate!! Starter Kits will be available on Tuesday, December 1st.
