This Week's Peek
A Peek into the Happenings at Powell
August 7, 2020
Mathe's Message
PHEW! Ladies and gentlemen, we made it through the first official week of this historical school year!!!! I am so proud of all of the risks you have taken this week jumping into a new world of education! Who would have ever thought this is what school would look like?!?! Next week is going to be a different feel, although it will still be busy, it will feel very different than the back to school weeks of the past. Just as Dr. Null encouraged our families to keep their first day of school traditions, I encourage all of you to do the same. Maybe it is wearing your first day of school outfit, or picking up a special coffee on the way. Whatever it may be, make your first day of the 2020-2021 school year memorable!

Personal Children During Ramp Up
- Campus employees may bring their school-aged children to their own campus while CISD is in intermittent remote instruction from August 12 through September 4. This includes school-aged students not enrolled in CISD.
- Employees will supervise their own children when practical.
- Children of employees should not be present in parent’s workspace when employees are discussing confidential information or when the presence of their children interferes with their ability to perform their job.
- Employees should complete the daily COVID check-in and should ensure that the employee and children can answer “no” to all of the screening questions. Like an employee, a child may not enter the building if he/she does not pass the screening.
At Powell, we will provide "working lab" areas on campus where staff kids can go during the day if their parent is in a meeting or situation where confidential information is being shared. The details to the "working lab" areas are not finalized, but the children will be able social distance and work on their assignments as appropriate with supervision.
