Summer News

College Search
Summer is a great time for students at every grade level to think about their career and college options. Students, especially those entering the 12th grade, should start visiting campuses and meeting with admission representatives to get questions answered so applications can be completed during the Fall semester of senior year. If you can't make it to the college campus, start by exploring the college websites. Look at Admissions page for undergraduate admissions eligibility requirements and the Financial Aid page for scholarship opportunities.
Save the Date! Financial Aid Night
UCA Associate Director of Financial Aid, Julia Robison, will be speaking to us about State and Federal Aid and all of the changes that have come up this year. Whether you are new to the college planning process, or you have been through all of this before, you will not want to miss this night of information.
Also at this meeting, Mrs. Alicia Yrle, our Junior Sponsor, and Mrs. Karen Davis, our Senior Sponsor, will have information about the many activities that will be going on this coming school year.
While this meeting is more for 11th and 12th grade parents, all high school parents are welcome to attend. Please note that college representatives will not be at this meeting like in years past. Please read below about college fairs.

College Fair Information
With that said, the one organized for Faulkner County is at CHS, and it is during the day, which does not accommodate parents and would be a rushed, hectic experience for students. I am encouraging my parents and students who want to attend a College Fair to attend the one for private schools at the Little Rock Independent School College Fair on September 26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. I had a few parents attend this college fair last year, and they highly recommend it. You can go to www.gotocollegefairs.com to register. I have attached two flyers below to help you. Just click on the purple buttons.
During the school year, I will continue to have college representative visit St. Joseph during lunch to do presentations about their school and pass out information to interested students. Those dates will be announced and on my counselor website.
