Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.
January 15th, 2024
Message from the Superintendent
MLK Jr. Holiday
Dear North Brookfield Public Schools Families, Students, and Staff,
As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day today, Monday, January 15th, it's a poignant time for us to reflect on the values and vision of Dr. King and how they resonate within our school community. This day is not just a moment to pause and remember a great leader in American history, but also an opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment to making North Brookfield Public Schools a beacon of inclusivity, understanding, and mutual respect.
In our classrooms and in every hallway, we strive to foster an environment where every voice is heard, and every individual is valued. Our growing diversity is one of our strengths, and it is through embracing this diversity that we truly honor the legacy of Dr. King.
Let's use this day to reflect on our actions and attitudes. Let's ask ourselves how we can contribute to a community that upholds the ideals of equity and justice for all. Whether through discussions, educational activities, or quiet contemplation, let us deepen our understanding of the importance of inclusivity and respect in our lives.
Together, we can continue to build a school community that not only celebrates diversity but also actively promotes a culture of acceptance and empathy. Dr. King’s dream of a more just and fair world can be reflected in every classroom of North Brookfield Public Schools.
Let's keep working together, learning from each other, and growing as a community that Dr. King would be proud of.
Wishing you all a thoughtful and inspiring Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
