Staff Highlight: Dede Breimhorst - Paraprofessional (Commons Area & Library)
Something you may not know about Dede is that she was a flight attendant twice - once for Eastern Airlines based out of New York, and again 20 years later for Republic Airlines based in Detroit. She is also a "retired" motorcycle mama. She and her husband Bill have navigated over 500,000 miles roaring around the country on their Harley.
Dede's favorite thing to do is be with her family where things are typically adventurous, often funny, generally fun, and so very special. She can't narrow down to a favorite movie, but loves all the sappy Hallmark movies that always turn out the same. Her favorite book is the Bible because it's a road map to life in all situations - sorrow, joy, hope, peace, defeat, and comfort. The stories are honest, truths are real, words are precious, and message is eternal.
Staff Highlight Whitney Dhoore - Kindergarten Teacher
One of Whitney's favorite things to do is dance. She's been dancing since she was 2 years old! She says it keeps her calm, busy, and in her happy place. Her favorite movie is the Fox and the Hound. She would watch it on repeat for hours when she was a little girl until the VHS broke. Thankfully, she now has it on DVD and can share it with her own kids.
Spending time with friends and family is very important to Whitney. She loves to watch a good movie while cuddled up in a blanket. In the summer, she enjoys being outside, taking walks, and having bonfires. Something you may not know about Whitney is that she went to college in Hawaii for 6 months at the University of Hilo!
Staff Highlight Amanda Wood - Spanish Teacher
Amanda is originally from Bagley, MN. She and her husband Darren have a beautiful 4-year-old daughter named Aurellia, mostly known as Relly, and a toy poodle named Jack. Amanda attended NDSU for Spanish and English Education and then Missouri State University for Writing. Since High School, Amanda has wanted to experience life in multiple places. During the last 18 years, she's lived in North Dakota, Texas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania. She and her family moved to MN in 2019 to be closer to family.
One of Amanda's favorite things to do is travel. Her hobbies include baking, reading, sewing, gardening, and spending time with family. Her favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption because Stephen King is one of her favorite authors. If she could meet any historical person, it would be Frida Kahlo because, well, she's Frida Kahlo!
