Student of the Month
Jerwynne Price is a 6th grade student. He was nominated by several of his teachers because he is just a great kid. Jerywnne is always kind and encouraging to peers and teachers. He's a student that works hard and has a great attitude. We are very happy to have Jerwynne represent the I.W. Evans campus as our October student of the month!!
Board Goal 1: Provide and maintain for our faculty, staff, and students the best facilities possible.
Updated Whiteboard...for Free!!
The business office entered into a drawing with the company, Everase, for 2 free whiteboard makeovers. Mrs. Leslie Bowser, a dyslexia therapist, was one of the lucky winners in the district drawing to receive a whiteboard makeover. Everase came on October 11th and demonstrated how quickly and easily their product could be used to re-do a whiteboard. Thank you to the business office and to Everase for Mrs. Bowser's new whiteboard!
Board Goal 2: Create and promote a positive working environment of mutual respect, cooperation, and open communication between faculty, staff, Board, and community.
Breakfast fuel for Parent Conference Day!
October 6th was a staff development day for BISD. Our teachers utilized the day for parent conferences. With back to back conferences, we knew the teachers would need a good breakfast to get them through the day. Positive parent/teacher relationships are vital to student achievement and we appreciate all the effort our teachers put into having positive and informative conferences for parents.
We are Thankful for Our Custodians!!
The staff of I.W. Evans is thankful for our awesome custodial staff! They do a fabulous job of keeping our building clean and safe for our students and staff. We celebrated them with small tokens of our appreciation. Happy Custodians Day!
Happy Principals Month
Thank you to our wonderful staff, students, and PTO for spoiling Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Fowler during National Principals Month. Students have serenaded the principals, given lots of hugs, and made a lot of cards for them as well. Our staff have treated us to beautiful flowers, delicious food treats, and thoughtful cards. Your kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness are greatly appreciated by the principals!!
Board Goal 4: Provide faculty and staff with the tools and training to facilitate an excellent and individualized learning experience for every child every day.
Homecoming Pep Rally and Kona Ice Fun!
All of our students traveled to Warrior Stadium to partake in the 2017 Bonham Warrior Homecoming Pep Rally. After lunch students were able to purchase a snow cone from Kona Ice to enjoy during recess.
Congratulations to our 4-H student, Gavin Collier!
Gavin Collier and his team, The Mean Milkers, worked hard to earn 4th place in the Food Challenge competition and 3rd place in the Consumer Decision Making contest at the Heart of Texas Fair in Waco!
Fannin County Fair
We are very proud of our students that participated in the 2017 Fannin County Fair. Their hard work and determination paid off with success in the show ring.

V.A. Volunteers helping I.W. Evans Students
We are very grateful to our fifteen V.A. volunteers. These men and women come from every department within the V.A. and they have already donated over 120 hours of service so far this year. They come to help students learn to read, work on social skills, mentor students, and to help our life skills and behavioral students learn to work cooperatively with others. We cannot thank them enough for their service and kindness!
WOW Wednesday Learning and Fun!
Every Wednesday, our teachers have a WOW day for their students. On this day the students are creating, constructing, and designing in hands-on highly engaging instructional activities. The students and teachers LOVE WOW Wednesday!
Pumpkin Patch Field Trip for TRAILS and TSS students

Students and staff began their adventure feeding goats, cows, sheep and chickens. Students put their navigational skills to the test running through the hay maze in search of classmates. A hay ride, picnic and pumpkin picking were highlights of the field trip too. Students and staff returned from their farm adventure having strengthened social skills and having gained knowledge of the Life Cycle of Big Mack and Jack o Lantern Pumpkins, agricultural uses of machinery and proper care and handling of various farm animals
