District News
We are delighted to announce our first professional development opportunity for the year. The Plano Area Affiliate of Black School Educators is hosting a screening of PUSHOUT: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools.
The documentary underscores the challenges Black girls face with insight from experts across the country who have worked extensively in the field of social justice, gender equality and educational equity. These experts give context to the crisis and provide a roadmap for how our educational system and those who interact with Black girls can provide a positive rather than punitive response to behaviors that are often misunderstood or misrepresented.
Tickets are only $5 per person. (PAABSE members are free and will receive a separate email with ticket information)

Tutorials and Dismissal
- If your department is offering tutorials, you may only send your entire class to the gym or library if you have more than 5 students attending tutorials AND you will be engaged with your students you are tutoring. Making up a test or an assignment can be done in the learning lab and/or pod.
- I If you have a student currently failing your class, they should not be released to the gym or library.
- Only release students to the gym or library when at least 5 students show up for tutorials. Do not release them with the "anticipation" of students reporting to your classroom based on the number of students that signed up.
- Students will not be allowed to leave their classroom after 1:07.
