Message From the Principal
Hello Sabercat Families!
I hope everyone is having a great week! When the weather is cool in the mornings, it reminds me of my home state of Missouri. My favorite season of the year is fall. I love the cooler weather and the foliage of the leaves. Although Texas has its own seasons within a season, I still enjoy the Fall in Katy. It is a season that reminds me to be thankful for my family and all of the blessings I have been given.
A brief reminder for parents to check their students grade this week before Progress Reports next week. If your student is missing any assignments for a grade, this is the best week to ensure those are turned in on time.
Included in this newsletter is also the form for parents to make any changes to their students form of instruction for the upcoming 3rd 6 weeks. If you would like to make any changes, please submit the form before the deadline of October 23, 2020.
Thank you for entrusting us with your students, as we continue to move forward together in the school year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ann Lalime

LAST REMINDER:
There will be one district-wide event on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
All campuses and district staff are encouraged to participate in Unity Day by wearing orange as an expression of solidarity- “Together against bullying. UNITED for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.” PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center Unity Day Guide provides an overview and ideas for school participation.
Help spread the word that Katy ISD is speaking up against bullying by sharing pictures online, tag Katy ISD on Twitter and Facebook, and use the hashtags #UnityDay2020 #KatyCommUNITY.
In-Person and KVA Instruction Opt-In/Opt-out
The window to change your child's instructional delivery setting for the 3rd Six Weeks will begin on Monday, October 12th – Friday, October 23rd. To make any changes, please fill out the form below. Our campus counselors have worked extremely hard to balance in-person and virtual classes as well as implement all campus phase 1 safety protocols. Please ensure you submit your change request in a timely manner. Campuses cannot make any changes after the deadline.
Important Reminders
- All opt-in changes are in effect at the beginning of the third six-weeks grading period. Changes to instructional delivery settings can result in a change in your child’s teacher(s) and daily schedule.
- If you would like your child to remain in the instructional delivery setting he/she is currently in, there is NO action needed on the part of the parent.
If you have any questions regarding the next opportunity to change your child’s learning option for the third grading period, please email KVA@katyisd.org.
If there is a need for a change in your child’s learning option due to a medical hardship, please email your concern to medicalhardship@katyisd.org.
Pending the decision of the review committee, students will remain in their current learning option that was elected prior to the start of the school year on August 19 if no change has been made.
