PRINCIPALS FOR THE DAY!

These sisters each won the online auction "Principal for a Half Day!" Charlotte spent the afternoon with Mrs. Basl during Teacher Appreciation Week passing out Camp Counselor Kart goodies to staff, walking classrooms, and visiting the office staff. Eleanor spent the morning with Mrs. Basl and STUCO passing out goodies on the Kudos Cart, playing "PE & Popcorn with the Principal" with 4th grade for their Apex Top Earner award, and visiting classrooms to see learning and fun.

Interested in your child being Principal for the Day? Keep an eye out for these fun options and more when we launch raffle baskets and online auctions next year with PTO.

LETTER TO YOUR AUGUST SELF

Looking for an end-of-year task to do with your child(ren) to help reflect on the year and prepare for 2023-2024? Our staff took time today to reflect on the year and write a letter to their "August self". They used the prompts below to record their 3-2-1 and then sealed the envelopes to be re-opened in August after starting the new year.

This is a great strategy to process closure and transitions, while also helping prepare for the new school year to come.

PUBLIC REVIEW: 9 - 12 CTE CURRICULUM MATERIAL ADOPTION RESOURCES

DVUSD is considering the adoption of new supplemental materials to support both content and instructional practice for grades 9-12 in 12 CTE Programs. It is our intent to purchase supplemental materials and/or adopt open education materials that align with the Arizona Department of Education CTE Technical Standards. This will result in a composite of materials from different sources to build supporting instructional content and unification of district curriculum resources for each course.

The Public Review Feedback goal is to assist in the review of selected committee material resources for adoption that supports teachers and students in their ability to meet or exceed proficiency in CTE programs, the Technical Skills Assessment, and preparation for careers or other post-secondary opportunities.
