As it always does, summer has flown by! I hope you've had a chance to enjoy some time with friends and family, relax, and engage in endeavors of your own interest. I've seen a few Facebook posts lately that show my friends relishing the last days of summer, trying to maximize the moments left before the school year begins...#nothingwasted.

While we all know that summers pass quickly, we also know the school year soars. Next spring, we will wonder how it has gone so quickly. As we approach this year, I'm wondering what we might need to do to get the most out the time we have with our students.

In the spirit of capping this year off with the statement #NothingWasted, I'm hopeful that we'll seize the opportunities to try new things, think outside of the box, push ourselves to model learning to our students (even when it's hard!), take some risks, reflect on our practice, celebrate our successes and push on to get a little bit better each day.

Here's to reaching next June and confidently saying, "Nothing wasted."
