- We appreciate our families partnering with us to support the education of our students.
- Thank you to all that continue to exercise caution and patience in the parent parking lot during drop off and pick up times. We appreciate everyone doing their part to make this time go smoothly and safely.
- We have established routines and procedures and the environment is set for a focused year of learning.
GIS Picture Day - October 20
Gaylord Intermediate School Picture Day is COMING SOON! Wednesday, October 20th, 2021
Online students are encouraged to join between the hours of 9 A.M. and 1 P.M.
Pre-printed picture forms will be sent home prior to picture day. Please remind your child to bring this form back to school on picture day, whether purchasing a package or not. These forms help the photographers identify each student.

Safety Lessons
Children need knowledge and skills to protect themselves. As part of the guidance curriculum at GIS, a lesson on personal safety will be presented to all grades starting in the month of October. The lesson will help students recognize the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touch and identify trusted adults in their lives. If you have any questions regarding the content of this lesson, please contact me at 989-731-0856, ext.1509.
Helpful Information
- Communication - In case we need to reach you regarding your child and to stay informed with what is happening at GIS, it is important that your contact information stays current. Please call the school office at 989.731.0856 with any changes throughout the year. Most of our communication is sent electronically and it is important that we can keep you informed.
- Signing Students In and Out of School - When bringing your child after the start of the school day or picking your child up before the end of the school day, we need you to come in and sign him/her in or out. Students cannot sign themselves in or out.
- GIS Office Hours - 7:00 A.M.-3:45 P.M. Monday-Friday
A Big THANK YOU to the Otsego Community Foundation
The Otsego Community Foundation is pleased to support Gaylord Community Schools with a grant of $18,800.00 for K-6 Adopt a Classroom. This grant is a distribution from the Community Fund, an unrestricted fund of the Otsego Community Foundation.
These funds will have a profound impact on over 1400 students. Materials will be purchased that will enhance the curriculum. Students will be afforded additional opportunities for hands-on activities that will assist them in mastering adopted academic standards.
Rite Aid
RXfundraising and Rite Aid have given us an opportunity to help generate funds for our school and students. They are willing to give us back a portion of the dollars spent on prescriptions filled at Rite Aid. If you are interested in supporting GIS, you can register by following the link below.
