Madison Library
Summer School 2019
A bright light at summer summer school!
Hi my name is Ms. Sanchez! I'm here to report on all the great things that happened this summer at Madison High School! It was an honor to serve as the summer school librarian! Students were excited that the library was open during summer school so they could checkout books, use library technology, utilize library resources, and take a break in a welcoming place.
Take a look at what we did in the the library this summer!

Freshmen students participated in a reading promotion activity designed to expose them to books from various genres. Students completed an assignment to express if they loved a book or if just wasn't their type!
Popular Reads
Students were anxious to get to the genre tables such as horror/paranormal and romance! Overall, the most popular genre was horror! Summer is a great time to read your favorite books under the stars!

Summer school classes are from 8am-noon or 1pm-5pm with one break. Some students opted to play checkers or cards with their friends as a brain break!

Students were invited to tour UT Austin, Air Force Academy, and Penn State University and things to consider when choosing the right school.
Read, read, read!
Students from private schools or other high school campuses were thrilled about the large Manga/Anime collection at the Madison library. Some students read 3-5 books during the hour break in between classes.
