Fall Creek Intermediate - October 7, 2018
Lost & Found
Remind your child to stop by the lost and found to see if any of the items are his/hers before Fall Break. All remaining items will be donated to a local charity after school dismisses on Friday, October 12th.
Homework Club
- Who: Any student needing assistance with specific concepts/completing homework
- What: Students do not need to sign up ahead of time to attend. However, they will need a note from a parent to stay after school. Students MUST have homework or need assistance as this truly is work time, not a social hour. All school rules apply.
- When: Tuesday-Thursday – after school from 2:55-3:30pm (Please note that we will no longer have homework club on Mondays)
- Where: FCI Media Center
- Why: We recognize that we are all a team with a heart to assist our students. FCI desires to connect with students and assist them with academic needs in an environment outside the school day as the need presents itself.
NOTE: This club is not intended to be a YMCA after school child care club. However, if your child does attend the YMCA after school child care, he/she may attend homework club then go directly to the YMCA area in the cafeteria. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact FCI @ 915-4220.
Homework Club will begin September 10th. Remember, there is no homework club after school on Mondays.
Notes from the Treasurer
- Book fee statements were processed in August and due on Sept 7th. You can pay your account either with a check payable to FCI or via eFunds. If you use eFunds, you will have to grab your fee amount in Skyward and then manually enter the amount you are paying in eFunds.
- At this time any accounts not paid in full by Oct 26th will be accessed a $8.35 processing fee. To avoid this fee you must have setup in eFunds all future payments. Please be advised that eFunds is an outside company and does not interface with Skyward so on your last payment you will need to manually change the amount.
- Any over-payment of fees is automatically transferred to your child's cafe account.
- Free/Reduced Accounts: The deadline to re-apply was Sept 20th. Per the HSE administration, any account that did not reapply will be changed to a Paid Status.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact the treasurer at 317-915-4220 or mpitts@hse.k12.in.us

***IMPORTANT FCI PROCEDURES***
IMPORTANT SAFETY ITEM REMINDERS
- Buzzer protocol - When you ring the buzzer for entry, remember that the office staff will ask you your name, intent, child's name/homeroom to ensure those that enter FCI should enter.
- Photo ID - Whether picking up or dropping off, please have photo ID such as your driver's license ready for identification purposes.
- Door 1 entry - All visitors must enter via door 1 regardless of time of day. Please do not come in the cafeteria door with students before school.
- Bus lot - Do not enter the bus lot prior to bus arrival or while buses are in the lot.
- Drop-off - Please make all attempts possible to have your child exit your vehicle on the side of the curb. Exit the opposite side and walking in between cars is not safe.
Safe Visitor Badges
Per HSE Policy, visitors must have their Safe Visitor Badge scanned to check-in to the building. Please download the SafeVisitor App (available for iPhones and in Google Play for all other phones) or have your badge available when you come into the school. Looking up names can lead to the wrong person being signed in.
Upon leaving, please give your printed badge to the office staff for quick check-out.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Vicki Foutty at 317-594-4100.
Activity dismissal
For school-wide events such as the Hang Out, Falcon Fest, all-school stay-after basketball games, the following pick-up procedures assist in safer, quicker dismissal:
- 5th grade parents to travel north on Olio Road into the front parking lot then south on Olio Road out of the parking lot. Pick-up is in FRONT of the building for 5th grade.
- 6th grade parents to travel south on Olio Road into the bus parking lot then north on Olio Road out of the parking lot. Pick-up is in the bus lot for 6th grade. This is north of the school on the side face HSE High School.
ABOVE ALL, we know your schedules are very busy as well. However, we ask that you NOT park in the parking lot and ask your child to walk across the lot. This is not safe as there are many vehicles in the lot. Please assist us in keep all of our children safe and remain in the pick up line. We will take all possible efforts to move the line quickly and safely. Thank you in advance!! :)
