Third Graders Survived the Oregon Trail
Thank you to all of the parents and teachers who made the Oregon Trail such a fun and educational experience for our students. They faced hardships and also experienced many fun times along the way. We love it when learning comes to life for our students!
Family Book Club - The Lemonade War
We hope all of our Yarbrough families will read Jacqueline Davies' book, The Lemonade War this summer and participate in one of our Family Book Clubs in August. Three times a year we announce a book for families to read together and then arrange a time at breakfast, lunch, or dinner to discuss the book. We hope you will spend some time reading together this summer and join us in August.
Summer Reading and Math Cards
Don't forget to keep up with your summer reading and math practice. Students who complete their reading card will be invited to a water party with a fire truck water hose as the ultimate sprinkler. Those that finish their math cards may attend a special themed lunch party. Both cards are due the first week of school.
Summer Photo Challenge
Our school theme for 2017-2018 is "Yarbrough Takes You Places." We hope our students let reading take them places this summer! We want to see all the fun, unusual, and creative places our students (and their families) read. Snap a photo of your student and/or your family reading and send it to sbrandt@auburnschools.org or post on social media using the hashtag #YESreads. We will display these photos for everyone to enjoy.
Auburn High School Camp Opportunities
Be sure to check out all of the camps offered through Auburn High School this summer. They are each listed on the school's athletic page or you may follow the link below.
Notes from Nurse Julia
A few reminders if your student will keep medications at school next year:
All medications must have a new Prescriber Parent Authorization form (PPA) completed by the your student’s practitioner each school year.
Prescription medications must be in the original containers with a prescription label that matches the PPA form.
Over the counter medications must be in unopened containers and contain no more than a 30 day supply. Please purchase tablets instead of syrup/liquid if possible.
Please bring authorization forms and medications to school prior to the first day of school. I will accept medications on August 3rd, 4th and 7th, from 8:30 am-2:00 pm.
Have a fun and healthy summer!
