COMMUNITY HELPER'S WEEK!
Ms. Ginni's Class
Where can you find police officers, veterinarians, office workers, princesses, karate instructors, and chefs all happily working side-by-side? In a dramatic play area of a classroom, of course. A child’s pretend play in classrooms or at home is often considered fun and imaginative, but with limited educational value. The truth is, in the midst of creating a restaurant together, clomping around in grown-up shoes, or twirling around with friends in a fairytale land, children are learning to solve problems, coordinate, cooperate, and think flexibly. Imagine the skills required to turn the block are into a construction site!
FEBRUARY CALENDAR
HAVING FUN WITH THE RHYTHM STICKS
This week we used the rhythm sticks in simple ways to practice beginning beat coordination and fine motor skills. When we mastered this, it was easy to incorporate and practice new movements and skills
Rhythm sticks are a great activity for any class, and varying the movements will help keep the students’ interest.
CONSTRUCTION SITE MANAGERS
Construction workers are people who help build things for us like our houses and our roads. We had a great time reading about the vehicles they use to move dirt and haul large objects. In the block area the students had the opportunity to pretend to work on a construction site. They enjoyed measuring with a BIG ruler and "designing" their own building.
FIRE STATION
POST OFFICE
We really enjoyed dressing up to the deliver the mail.
We explored the world of mail and mail carriers! We wrote letters to our friends, added stamps to produce our very own letters to deliver. We love to create beautiful things and we are always proud of our achievements.
PET SHOP & VET'S OFFICE
GARDEN & OUTDOOR TIME
PK 3.1 THEATHER
We have been reading the story together, joining in with the words and trying to talk like the wolf or pigs would.
THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE
We tried to make each injury a lesson. For example, poor Ms. Ginni broke her arm running in the playground. Ms. Ginni surely won't be doing that again anytime soon.
We enjoyed taking the cotton balls in and out of the jar. We had a great time putting band aids on the dolls and the patients with help from the teachers.
A SPECIAL VISIT !!!!
THANK YOU MR. FERNANDO!!!!!
