Jillian plans to return on Monday
She would also like us to know that she appreciates our support, but would really like to treat Monday as a "regular" day and not be involved in a lot of "How are you doing?" conversations.
I told her that I would communicate her wishes to you and that we continue to remain supportive, but would also do our best to provide her some distance and get back into a school routine.

"GO" Bags
For those of you who didn't know, NPS made the paper three days in a row with a social media blowout at the high school, a natural gas leak at Jefferson, and a 51-year old guy on the Westside playground at 4:30am.
Angie Hausman had a couple of great reminders for our GO bags that you take with you anytime we evacuate the building (fire drill or evacuation drill).
Angie mentioned that her teachers really wished they would have had some flash cards or a book that the teacher could read to the class while they were at the evacuation site. Also, make sure that you have an updated roster in the bag--one of the teachers reported that the only roster that she had in the bag was from 2015!
If you have a small roster that you keep in your ID badge (and close to your heart :), that's an awesome idea. But if you are absent, the sub needs a class roster. Please make sure you have an updated roster (it may have changed since August!) in your black bag. We do have an evacuation drill scheduled for next week!
Lori Coffin will have some updated information from her Crisis Day Training yesterday. I plan on her sharing that with you at next week's PLC.
REMIND for staff
To get signed up, go to remind.com/join/kk2bee. All you'll need is your name and cell phone number!
I promise you that I will not overuse this! You won't be getting Reminds every week. But during emergencies, snow days, and in Jefferson's case, info about the status of the gas leak, Remind is a great tool!

Para Training Series
In October, Amber, Kim, Cathy and Michelle attended para training via a Zoom meeting. They were able to do the training online in the Art/Music room. October's topic was confidentiality and FERPA.
In November, the topic will be reading comprehension and we will have Susie, Stacy, and LeAnn attend that one. I will check to see if SPED paras are allowed to attend.
Whether you're a para or not, you can see upcoming topics and watch archived training videos at the link below.
