KRISTINA N. BUEHRLE SCHOLARSHIP
ST. HILARY PARISH FOUNDATION 2024-2025
THE KRISTINA N. BUEHRLE SCHOLARSHIP
Kristina N. “Tina” Buehrle was a beloved member of the St. Hilary community, as the mother of four sons who attended the St. Hilary School, and as a trusted and dedicated substitute teacher at the school over many years. Through the generosity of the Buehrle family, a scholarship fund was established in 2022 in her memory.
A scholarship through this fund will be given to up to two qualifying newly enrolling kindergarten or first grade students each school year.
The amount of the scholarship will be half the cost of tuition at either the parishioner or non-parishioner rate. The scholarship will be awarded based on financial need of the family, with special consideration given to a family facing a life-altering circumstance. Consideration will also be given to a family expressing a love of reading as part of the foundation of education and life-long success, as was important to Tina.
To apply, the following are required:
- Kristina N. Buehrle Scholarship Application Form
- To assist in awarding the most comprehensive funding package for each student, this scholarship also requires that a Preliminary Funding Information & Income Verification Form be submitted. This form must be submitted to be considered for this scholarship.
- The applicant must also complete an online FACTS tuition assistance application.
- All students applying for scholarships must also be re-registered for the 2024-2025 school year by the March 1 application deadline.
The completed Kristina N. Buehrle Scholarship Application Form and Preliminary Funding Information & Income Verification Form must be submitted by March 1, 2024 to:
St. Hilary Parish Foundation
Scholarship Application

Fairlawn, OH 44333
Questions may be directed to Diane Sarkis, St. Hilary Parish Foundation Development Director, at d.sarkis@sthilaryfoundation.org.
All materials and the information they contain will be treated confidentially. Each scholarship awarded will be applied directly to the respective recipient student’s 2024-2025 tuition. In order to encourage as many families as possible to apply and to respect the privacy of the recipients, names of scholarship recipients will not be published and recipients will be notified privately as part of their total tuition funding award package.
With the availability of the EdChoice Scholarship,
the threshold for need will be altered so that families in increasingly higher income brackets
will have a greater opportunity to be considered for other funding.
We encourage all eligible families to consider applying for this scholarship,
especially if financial need or special circumstances are present.
Families are also encouraged to apply for
the EdChoice Scholarship,
the Angel Scholarship,
and need-based tuition assistance by applying online through FACTS
by March 1, regardless of also applying for any of these scholarships,
so that the most comprehensive funding package can be awarded.
With gratitude for your choice of a Catholic education at St. Hilary School,
