Classroom Norms--How do you manage these?
In the library these last few weeks, we've had meetings before school about the D64 Certified Staff Framework and specifically Domains 2 and 3. In this Danielson-based framework, there's a lot of promotion of student choice and voice in creating, establishing, and maintaining classroom norms and procedures. Many teachers have these norms set up, but how do you make sure that the norms are a continual thread that runs through your classroom culture? Check out this great article from Geoff Krall (@GeoffKrall on Twitter) published by Middleweb about classroom norms! Middleweb (@middleweb on Twitter) is a great group to follow with middle school-specific information, articles, resources and more. They also have a Facebook group, if that's a social media platform you prefer!

How do we talk to our students about Digital Citizenship? How do we model good digital habits? This conversation is so important for everyone-- from our youngest tech users to all of us! Check out this free resource game from IDEA- The Illinois Digital Educators Alliance-- that has pertinent questions, situations, and much more for students. Remember, tag/share any ideas with @IDEAIllinois and #DigCit #DigCitWeek.
