Welcome back! This newsletter will serve as your learning guide for the upcoming week. Learning guides are emailed, posted on the TEAMS' class page, texted, and sent via REMIND.
Before class ends Monday, be sure to:
- Read- Review the "Word From 3rd" weekly newsletter and complete all tasks in this section.
- Materials from Home- In Math, we will be working on division. Your child may find it helpful to have items at home they can use to make equal groups and arrays (pennies, blocks, beads, etc. Also, students will need nonfiction/informational texts to explore for Reading and Writin. Please don't forget you are able to check out and pick up books from your home school.
- Asynchronous Assignments: Students will not have the opportunity to complete missing assignments at the end of the quarter. Parents, please, please, please make sure your child completes the asynchronous activities daily in the afternooon. Students who can not complete assignments on their own will be required to report to class 1:15pm -2:30 pm with their cameras on (email will be sent to parent).

DECEMBER'S STUDENT OF THE MONTH IS...
Desirae is amazing to have in class. She has worked so hard and has improved in all areas. She is:

I appreciate the conversation Desirae helps to generate. She regularly makes real world connections with the topics we discuss in class – a skill that will help her be successful in anything she chooses to pursue. Desirae is an example to her peers and more than deserving of this recognition!

Math Learning Focus: 3.ATO.3: Solve real-world problems involving equal groups, area/array, and number line models using basic multiplication and related division facts. Represent the problem situation using an equation with a symbol for the unknown.
Success Criteria
- I can create a multiplication and or division word problem when I am given an equation.
- I can represent a multiplication or division word problem with models, drawings, and equations.

- I can use estimation or related facts to determine if answers are reasonable.

- I can practice taking time to research and become an expert about my topics.
- I can read a variety of sources on the same topic or concept to get ideas for my writing.
- I can jot down important details from the sources on my chosen topic to help me as I collect more information.
