Language Arts

We've completed pre-reading activities to dive into Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart." Students read the text on Monday, September 23rd. This week we'll review literary elements, focusing specifically on theme, character motivation, and symbolism. We will prepare for a trial at the end of the week to determine if the narrator is guilty of murder or innocent by reason of insanity.

U.S. History

This week in U.S. History we are focusing on the Bill of Rights and the civil rights we have as American citizens. Our students will gathering information, analyzing this info, and then using it to create two 80% assingment.

In one of these assignments, students will be creating a JCMS student bill of rights and will be analyzing Supreme Court cases for the other 80% assignment.

Last week, we worked on solving multi-step equations. We are beginning this week with a quiz over that information.

The schedule for this week is:

Monday--Practice & Quiz

Tuesday--Quiz corrections/finish & Equations with fractional coefficients

Wednesday--Equations with fractional coefficients

Thursday--One solution, no solution, infinitely many solutions

This week we are starting to investigate how sound works and moves. We will do notes, labs and quizzes. They also have a homework worksheet that will be due by Friday.

There are assignments on schoology and, as always, I am an email away! nicholenay@usd475.org
