The Lindbergh Kidnapping
- In 1932 Charles Lindbergh's son, Charles Augustus Jr. was kidnapped in their home at the age of 20 months.
- The Lindbergh's paid the $50,000 ransom fee, but sadly their baby was never seen alive again. The baby's body was found on May 12,1932, just a short distance from the LIndbergh's home.
- After 2 years of investigating, the police finally traced the ransom money to Bruno Hauptman, a carpenter with a criminal record. The police arrested him and later executed him in 1936.
