Attendance Information
- For more detailed information, please refer to the student handbook.
- ATTENDANCE PHONE LINE: 208.855.4252
- Please use our attendance line to report any of your student ABCENSES or request a PERMIT TO LEAVE!! If you get the attendance voicemail, please leave a message, as the attendance secretary checks it regularly
If it is necessary for a student to leave campus, they must obtain a permit to leave from the attendance office. Failure to secure this permit will result in a major truancy as stated in the school handbook. In order to facilitate a student’s release, the ATTENDANCE OFFICE NEEDS AT LEASET ONE (1) HOUR NOTICE. A parent or guardian must call the attendance office prior to the student needing to leave. Notes will not be accepted. Please be advised that NO PERMITS TO LEAVE CAMPUS WILL BE MADE AND NO STUDENT WILL BE CALLED OUT OF CLASS 20 MINUTES BEFORE LUNCH AND 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY.
- If your student will not be attending Centennial this year, please make sure that you contact the registrar at nimmo.julie@westada.org to withdraw your student. Parents must sign a withdraw form with Centennial High to be withdrawn. If you are moving at a later date, you can still get the withdraw process started. It will help to get your student's correct grades into PowerSchool before the withdraw date. We want the students' transition to their new school to be smooth. Please return the laptop/charger, books, ID Badge, Parking Permit, pay monies due, and any other items to our bookkeeper at Centennial to avoid charges.

CHS PANTRY: This year's Holiday Turkey Dinner Extravaganza was able to support 29 CHS families with a complete turkey dinner, cider and a gift card for any extras the family may have needed!
Thank you to all the CHS staff, clubs, and departments that sponsored our families! Thank you to our CHS families that sponsored another family. Thank you to our Band Boosters for providing poinsettias for our families and to our CHS chapter of Meridian FFA for providing boxes of produce to our families.
Special thanks to our community sponsors, Time Square Dental, 44 Iron Design, CapEd, and St. Luke's Internal Medicine.
And many, many thanks to our staff volunteers who made deliveries! This would not be successful without staff taking personal time to help support our CHS families!
Thank you to all for making this project a huge success! If you are interested in getting involved next year, watch for announcements in the newsletter starting in September.
The Pantry is available to students all year long who need support with food or personal care items. Please contact your child's counselor or Amy Owens Cornell at cornell.amy@westada.org to get your child started with Pantry support.

PARENTS ARE THE SOLUTION
6-PART SERIES
We are inviting you to participate in an important program offered in collaboration with Boise State University. We will be providing a series of 6 editions Parents are the Solution embedded in Patriot Press. The 6-part series is designed to provide information about alcohol and other health behaviors to be discussed with your high school student. As you may know, drinking issues are a growing problem on high school campuses nationwide. In an effort to reduce the probability that high school students will engaging in underage drinking and/or become high-risk drinkers, we have developed a strategy to support parents/families as they take an active role in this process.
The information in this series is based on more than 20 years of research conducted by psychologists, doctors, teachers, and parents and family members like you. This approach emphasizes the importance of parents/families communicating with their high school students about the risks involved with alcohol use.
We invite you to use this resource. Each edition will be embedded in Patriot Press. We encourage you to read each edition and discuss the information with your high school student.

Looking for Career Information?
- CHS will offer the ASVAB on Tuesday, April 11. This exam is a required entry exam for the military, and it also provides extremely valuable career exploration/aptitude information for students; the school-based ASVAB administration is focused more on the career interest side of things than the military. So, if you are a senior who is not yet certain what path you want to follow, or a sophomore or junior wanting to get a start on the career exploration process, this is a great way to do it! If you have potential interest in a military career, this can also provide you with a base score that can help you (and recruiters) know which jobs you might qualify for. Please sign up here to register - the test is free!
