PIC Virtual Curriculum Night

Curriculum night is an opportunity for families to learn about the curriculum our students will study this year, the classroom expectations, and how student learning will be evaluated.


WHEN: Monday, Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m.


HOW: By Monday, Sept. 20 at 12 noon, informational video links for each of our classes posted on our school website (https://www.gbcs.org/Domain/17) for families to watch and google meet links will be posted on our website so that families can pop into a virtual meet between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Monday to ask follow up questions to our teachers after viewing the videos.

Family Council (Parent/Teacher Organization) Meeting

The Family Council (Parent/Teacher Organization) meeting scheduled for Monday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. will be hybrid. Due to our cafeteria being a large space, families are welcome to attend in person in the PIC cafeteria or via zoom (Zoom link - https://us02web.zoom.us/j/2408435146?pwd=OWY1a3V2L3JveTl5dytsRjc3YTkxZz09)

Perry Innovation Center's ONE Fundraiser - Raffle Ticket Sale

What does the fundraiser pay for?

  • Field trips & entry fees for STUDENTS (examples: Museums, nature centers, Mackinac Island, and more!)

  • Equipment, materials, supplies to enhance student-learning experiences.

What do YOU need to do?

  1. Pick up a packet of 15 raffle tickets from Family council meeting on Sept. 20 or from the PIC office! (We will also send envelope packets home with students upon request - call (810) 591-6078 to request or email Mrs. Genord at pgenord@gbcs.org)

  2. Help your student(s) sell them to family and friends! $10 each. Make checks payable to Grand Blanc Community Schools. (The prizes are MAJOR! Cash prizes - $1,000, $750, $500, $250 – who doesn’t need some extra holiday cash?? AND, the funds all go directly for our students' learning!)

  3. Return your packet of ticket stubs and money to the PIC office as soon as possible (deadline = Friday, Oct. 29, 2021) and pick up more packets to sell! Our goal is to sell 3,000 tickets!

  4. Drawing Date = Monday, Nov. 15 @ 6:30 p.m. during our PIC Family Council meeting.

Homecoming Festivities

It's Homecoming Week! PIC families are welcome to join us to help decorate our PIC trailer on Thursday, Sept. 23 @ 3:00 p.m. behind the Perry Center near the playground (weather permitting). Also, all PIC families are invited to walk in the Homecoming parade on Friday, Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m. with our PIC truck & trailer! Details about our slot in the parade line-up will be available next week so look for more information soon!

Homecoming Raffle Ticket Sales - Help Needed!

Please help us sell raffle tickets at a table set up outside of the Perry Center along side of Saginaw St. on Friday, Sept. 24. We are looking for families to sign up for a one hour shift between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. during the Homecoming parade. You'll get to watch the parade while you sell tickets to spectators. Perry Innovation Center Family Council Vice Chair Vacancy

Please consider joining an amazing group of people that work closely with our staff to support teaching, learning, and foster family involvement and engagement. Our Vice Chair position is open and we are looking for one or two parents or guardians who are interested in serving on our Family council Board.
