CELEBRATING PERFECT LEAP SCORES
We couldn't be more proud of Noah Harkins, Clayton Scott, and Richie Ton who earned a PERFECT score in one or more content areas on the LEAP test in the spring! Their commitment to excellence and GRIT could be seen all year and so we are excited to see them honored for this incredible accomplishment! Bossier Schools will be recognizing these awesome Bulldogs at the school board meeting on Oct. 7th.
AWARD-WINNING TEACHER
The POE Favorite Bossier Parish Teacher 2021 was announced on September 30. 2021... and we couldn't be more excited that it's our very own Mrs. Tanya Head! Mrs. Head is one of our amazing kindergarten teachers here at W.T. Lewis and she's been making a difference in our school community since our doors first opened in 2008! POE stated they are "so honored to recognize this talented and hardworking teacher who inspires, motivates, and mentors the youth of Bossier Parish". Congratulations, Mrs. Head! We are proud of you!

ROCK YOUR SCHOOL DAY
Despite the challenges presented by the COVID pandemic, as educators, we’ve learned the true importance of community, lifting each other up, and creating engaging learning experiences for our students! Once again, this October, we’ll be celebrating National Rock Your School Day here at W.T. Lewis on Oct. 21st! We'll be joining thousands of educators from around the world as we participate in Rock Your School Day and impact millions of students by creating fun, engaging, and memorable learning experiences! We are so excited to ROCK OUR SCHOOL!
BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH
Every October, schools and organizations across the country join in observing National Bullying Prevention Month. The goal is to work together to prevent Bullying and Cyberbullying by bringing awareness to the occurrence and effects of bullying on children of all ages. W.T. Lewis will be including anti-bullying activities at school throughout the month beginning on October 4th, 2021. One of those activities is that we are asking all staff and students at W.T. Lewis to wear a blue colored shirt, with uniform bottoms, every Monday in October to show we are all in support of No Bullying. We hope your child will participate in the Monday t-shirt campaign. Watch the W.T. Lewis school app and social media to see all the activities throughout the month. This is our chance to make Bullying prevention heard in our community! We can all help to put an end to Bullying and Cyberbullying.
Bully Prevention Activities
Wear a school appropriate blue shirt to show your support for bullying prevention on October 4th, 18th, and 25th.
Design your own, Stomp Out Bullying, Poster Contest. Write your name & homeroom teacher’s name on the back. Entries due to Mrs. Williams by October 22nd. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners will receive a Free Dress Day Pass. Winners will be announced October 29th.
Classes will participate in a different bullying prevention activity every week in October.
Students will enjoy books and videos that teach how to be an upstander instead of a bystander to stomp out bullying.
