How long have you been at BBI? 14 years
Where are you from and where did you grow up? Greenville, South Carolina
What inspired you to work with children? I always loved to sing and play the piano. My high school choral director and my piano teacher encouraged me to teach.
What is your favorite book? The Bible
What was your favorite subject in school? Choir
If you could learn to do one thing, what would it be? Quilting
If you could have any other career, what would it be? Working with Veterans
Who do you consider your hero? My husband
People would be surprised to know…I was a lifeguard.

ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE: November 4 - December 20
Students who meet this goal (November 4 - December 20) will be invited to an attendance party on Dec. 20th with admin.
To meet the goal, students can not have more than 1 absence. Leaving early or missing any period counts as an absence.
Not only does good attendance help our campus accountability rating, but it is an essential piece of academic success for all students.
If you child must be out, please send a note with them when they return (even if it is for one or two class periods).

Mrs. Whitney Richardson
5th grade Technology Applications
How long have you been at BBI? 2nd year at BBI and 5th in MISD
Where are you from and where did you grow up? Grew up in San Antonio, TX
What inspired you to work with children? I decided early on that I wanted to be a teacher. I've had many teachers influence me over the years, both positive and negative, which help shaped the desire to become one of the positive influences in education.
What is your favorite book? Reversed: A Memoir by Lois Letchford and The Dark Tower series by Steven King
What was your favorite subject in school? Math and Science
If you could learn to do one thing, what would it be? American Sign Language
If you could have any other career, what would it be? Own and run a bakery
Who do you consider your hero? My Father
People would be surprised to know… Didn't enjoy school very much but love to learn new things. Learning in the "traditional" sense did not support learning modality so I struggled in grade school.

BBIS General Information
Early morning child care begins at 6:30 a.m. and all students must be enrolled online through the MISD website.
The first bell rings at 7:55 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m. The instructional day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m.
