Ellie Goulding was born in Hereford, England.

She began writing music and playing guitar at 14.


She went to school at the Lady Hawkins' High School.

She then graduated to Hereford Sixth Form College

She studied drama at Kent University, but was soon advised to take a year off to pursue a music career.

Career Roles/Albums

Ellie's career started when she took a year off from college to pursue a music career. In 2009, she was signed to Polydor Records, but her first single "Under the Sheets" was released by Neon Gold Records.

Lights, her debut album, was released on March 2010. The song that gave it a lot of airplay and helped to project it to the top of the UK albums charts was "Starry Eyed"

Halcyon, her next album, got mostly positive reviews, which boosted the release. It landed number two on the UK albums chart, with 33,425 copies in its first week.

Her next album, Halcyon Days, a reissue of Halcyon, was released on August 23, 2013. The lead single was "Burn".

Her latest is Delirium. It was released on November 6, 2015. It landed number three on the UK album chart. The lead single is "On My Mind".
