Are cell phones really the spawn of Satan?
Why teachers could be missing out on educational opportunities by being cell phones Natzis...
2. Teachers want their students to "grow up" and be "independent" yet as soon as they enter the classroom they take away the one thing that allows them to be their own person at such a young age. The power of a cell phone is strong but could be a great opportunity to prove their maturity.
3. Cell phones these days can literally be used to do just about anything, including searching the internet. This could be a great way to get students more involved in a class discussion for example.
4. Working at willpower. Something many of us lack when it comes to technology. Teachers can encourage this characteristic through the simple task of avoiding social media and text messages until after class.
Cell phone use during a class exercise.
Extra help with a school project!
So why not?
There will ALWAYS be a down side to just about anything educators do in the classroom.
2. There are still children who do not do what they are told. We all have our bad seeds and one person can ruin it for everyone.
3. We have made it this far in education without the involvement of cell phones in the classroom, it is not an absolute necessity.
