Geometry Museum Project Due February 1st
Valentine Decorations Needed
We will be doing an area and perimeter project with the class that involves decorating a shoe box to collect our class Valentines. We are going to decorate the box with lace, ribbon, Valentine’s stickers, doilies, and other Valentine decorations. If anyone is willing to donate those types of decoration supplies, we could use them for this project.
Thank you so much for your support! Below is a class list, to help your child label his/her Valentine’s. They can be brought in starting Monday, February 11th , but please no earlier.

“I have a dream that my four children will live in a country that they will not judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character.”
Martin Luther King Jr was a man who made the world a better place without using violence. He was a great man. He stopped segregation in a peaceful way. People tried to scare him but that didn’t stop Dr. king. He kept going. He got together with church leaders and discussed segregation. Dr. king went to jail many times but that didn’t stop him either. Dr. king was a great man!!!
Writing
By Lawrence Lamoureux & Blaise Williams
This week in writing we started our conclusion for our non-fiction writing. We used a checklist to check if we were really done with all our skills. We are trying to use expert words to make the very best writing. Most of our writing pieces are five chapters long. Each chapter is supposed to be a page long. Next week we will work on revising and editing. We also wrote our writing goals. You can choose your goal. All the third grade goals are on the checklist. The writing goals are things you didn’t do so you make it a goal and try to accomplish. One example of a writing goal is balancing facts with ideas.

Reading
By Brady Shim & Andy Fay
This week reading couldn’t have been any better.
We learned several interesting and exciting things this week in reading. Some of the things we learned were harder than others. But in the end they were all fun. Let’s talk about what happened this week in reading.
Reading this week started of pretty simple we reviewed about talking back to the author. This means you might have a different opinion from the author. Then later on in the week we got a little more serious. We started to jot in the middle of our reading. But we did read an article. Not a regular article an article about wolves, one of the creatures of mother nature. We used the article as an example of citing evidence in the article when answering questions about what we read. Reading was an exciting chance to challenge our mind. I hope next week will be as good as this week was or even better.
