Meet Elissa Malespina
Excited to be working with all of you!
Hi Everyone!
About Me:
Throughout my 18+ year career in education, I have had the opportunity to work in the classroom as a high school history teacher and as a special education teacher for students with severe emotional, mental and physical challenges. In the last 15 years I have been a Teacher Librarian at Highland Park High School, Columbia High School, South Orange Middle School and Somerville Middle School. My varied experience gives me a unique perspective toward working with students and teachers, drives my passion for infusing new technology into the curriculum and thinking outside the box to pique students’ interest and keep them engaged.
I am the NJ Future Ready Librarians Task Force Chair and the Past President of the ISTE Librarians Network. I also teach an online class on Future Ready Librarians for ISTE U.
Family Life:
I am an avid sports fan. My husband and I attend every home Men’s Basketball game at our alma mater, Seton Hall. Sunday is appointment television to watch the Giants and the Jets play, dismissing the idea that one cannot root for two different teams in one sport.I also love to garden and most days you can find me sitting outside socializing with my neighbors.

Technology used to make this:
There are so many educational uses for these flyers - I have used them as newsletters and welcome letters for parents. I have had students make them for school projects. If using Smore is something you are interested in let me know and I will totally help you with any questions you may have. Below is a video tutorial about it.
Feel free to email me at emalespina@veronaschools.org with any questions, you may have or any collaborations you would like to work on.
