Dear Families,
We had a great week! We had students on Monday and Tuesday and a teacher work day on Wednesday followed by evening parent-teacher conferences Wednesday night and all day Thursday. Thank you to all our families who attended parent-teacher conferences. We love to share student progress with you!
Next week we have our Anti-Bullying Spirit Week. Monday is Superhero Day, Tuesday is Twin Day, Wednesday is Unity Day (wear orange), Thursday is Pajama Day, and Friday is Jersey Day. All students and staff are welcome to participate.
Next week, we also have our first grade field trip. Please make sure students are dressed appropriately in closed-toed shoes and have jackets. We have several jackets and sweaters in the lost and found. Please see pictures below. Our lost and found is in the south side of the building by the office.
As the weather is changing it is important that students are dressed to be outdoors during recess. If your student is in need of winter clothing, please reach out to our counselors Christine.bactel@usd469.net or Tami.scrivo@usd469.net
A few reminders:
Bagtags: Students should now have tags on their backpacks indicating how they are going home. Please do not remove these. This assists us in ensuring your student is in the correct location at dismissal.
Bus riders: If your student is a bus rider, I strongly encourage you to get the bus compass app. This will allow you to monitor bus location in real time.
Visitors: We would like to remind families that all visitors must enter and sign in through the office.
Our Schedule: Our school day is from 8:30-3:30 (M-W, & F) and 9:30-3:30 on Late Start Thursdays (if there are 3 or more days of school). Students are considered tardy if they arrive at school after 8:30 (M-W, & F) and 9:30 on Late Start Thursdays. If your student(s) is going to be late or absent please call us at 913-727-1128.
Arrival & Dismissal Map: Our updated traffic pattern map is attached below. 1st grade car riders will arrive on the NORTH side of the building and dismiss on the NORTH side. Please see our traffic map below.
Bus transportation: must be arranged by families. Please arrange bus transportation using the following link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScEsJBUyk0ji1m--u_x6dAYIfDmCyf0ndjZsYQgH6F-4N7PTg/viewform. Please see more bus information below.
Breakfast/Lunch: Information about cost, menu options, and general questions can be found on our nutrition services page: https://www.usd469.net/vnews/display.v/SEC/Family%20%26%20Students%7CNutrition%20Services
Family Events & PTA: Our next Parent-Teacher Association meeting is October 19th. The doors open at 6:00 for socializing and the meeting starts at 6:30. See more information below.
Site Council: Our next Site Council Meeting is October 26th from 4-5pm.
