Weatherford Little League
-- 10/11 Minor League Division --
Update April 20
Due to the recent rain we will have a 2 hour batting practice tomorrow, Thursday from 6-8pm at Warrior Training Facility . This is an indoor batting facility located just off I20 in Aledo (Willow Park).
To best serve the players it would be ideal if half of the boys would show between 6-7 and the remaining players show between 7-8. Otherwise, there could be a long wait for cage time if everyone showed at 6pm. Please text me your preferred time slot: 6-7 or 7-8 - first come first served.
Saturday is Pitcure Day, 1:00 at ball field. Please be there by 12:30

Update Feb 25
We have a new player on our team; Trent Persky will be joining us this week. We have a busy weekend ahead, due to the recent rains our practice schedule has condensed to get as much practice time in before the pre-season starts next week.
The updated game schedule is now available online and can be viewed by clicking here "Game Schedule" .
Please note that the practice game schedule is included and has also been updated but there are a couple practice games that we will play that do not appear on the schedule -- long story. I'll keep you updated via text and this website about all practices and games.
***If you will be assisting the team as a coach please complete a background check available on the WLL website. Click here "Volunteer Form" .

Friday Mar 4th - 6.00 vs Marlins on William Field (was originally scheduled for 7:45)
Saturday Mar 5th - 1:45 vs Cubs on Williams Field
I'm excited for another Weatherford Little League baseball season. Our team name is the Royals. Our team is comprised of a group of boys that have varying levels of skill and experience. I will make every effort during the season to remind the players that have stronger abilities to encourage and assist the players that are not as strong. I believe this approach promotes team building and sportsmanship.
I have coached Little League for over 20 years or so. My two youngest boys are on the team; Jack and Adam. I played Little League as a kid from TBall all the way through Senior League, and I have played on many softball teams as an adult. I enjoy baseball more than any other team sport.
Minor League is real baseball with a few safeguards built in to keep the game competitive and as safe as possible for the players. One point about safety: please encourage your player to wear an athletic cup! I have my boys wear them at practice and during games.
I need your help supporting the team this season. Adults willing and able to help teach the players the fundamentals of baseball are needed. Prior experience is not required. I also need assistance with keeping order in the dugout and keeping score (book and/or scoreboard) during each game. Truthfully, our team will require multiple volunteers for each game and practice. Please consider volunteering.
Does anyone know of a decent field where we can practice? I would prefer to find a suitable practice field that can be used all season long. I will schedule a few practices at the city park fields, but few of the city park fields are conducive to our level of play. Also there are strict time limits, a fee is imposed by the city, and scheduling the same field each week is near impossible.
I'll have a practice schedule posted soon. Game schedule will be posted as soon as I get it from the league.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email, text or catch me at practice.
