3RD GRADE READ-A-THON READERS
Week of January 25
We all have a story! This week, in preparation for our unit on biographies, we have spent time thinking about what our story is. We have incorporated several books that follow along with our social studies and health curriculums, which help us recognize, relate and define some of our own uniqueness.
For literacy, we're focusing on understanding the setting of our text and how it impacts the story. We used a variety of texts to identify when the story takes place and where it takes place. We discussed how authors may explicitly state these items and other times, we have to infer.
We have continued our work with fractions this week by adding and subtracting fractions, and finding equivalent fractions. We should conclude this unit in just over a week.
