2016 Election Education Support
Dear teachers:
In this presidential election year, many of you may be concerned about broaching the subject of politics in your classroom. We’re here to help! Below are some web-based resources that can make this topic easy and fun for your students at any grade level. The KCHE Board encourages you to use the context of this election season to get your students excited about civic education and civic engagement. If you have questions or need additional ideas or resources, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Emily Williams
President, KCHE
Here's a lesson idea!
Hold a mock Presidential Election in your school. Locate a copy of a local sample ballot. Set up your own Electoral College with individual classrooms representing each of the states. Have fun while teaching students all about civic engagement!
