SAFETY NEWS

With our roofing project in full swing, you may have noticed areas of our campus currently blocked off due to active work zones. Some of the exterior/perimeter fences have been temporarily removed in order to accommodate heavy equipment and roofing supplies, etc. In an effort to keep our campus, students and staff safe at all times, we have contracted with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office to provide an on-duty deputy to patrol and closely monitor our school campus throughout the day for the remaining days of school. Please do not be alarmed if you see the CPSO deputy on our school campus or in the building during the school day. This extra security measure began today.

For more information, please contact Principal, Christi Jarreau at cjarreau@iccschool.org.

CALLING ALL POTENTIAL DRUMMERS

We are looking into developing a Percussion Club as an extension of the Pep Squad to play in a drum line at football games and pep rallies. You do not have to know how to play nor have previous musical experience. The commitment would require availability for football games on Wednesdays during the fall and 1 afternoon during the week during the football season for practice. Percussion Club would be open to middle school boys and girls.

Right now, we are working to gauge the level of interest for next year’s middle schoolers. If your current 5th – 7th grade student has interest, please contact Chauntelle LeJeune 337-532-7552 by June 15th.

WE'RE HIRING

Please help spread the word! ICCS is accepting applications for an Elementary Resource/Special Education teacher and a Boy's P.E. Coach/Athletic Director for the 2019-2020 academic year. Resumes can be emailed to Principal, Christi Jarreau at cjarreau@iccschool.org.

SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Act of 2010, Public Law 111-296 establishes requirements for conduction outreach to households on the availability of Summer Food Service Program meals. Attached to this week's newsletter is a listing of locations for the Summer Food Program. Eligibility is any child 18 years of age or younger or any person over 18 who has been determined by a state education agency or local public educational agency of a state to be mentally or physically handicapped and is enrolled in a public or private school program.
