TEKs Update and Homework

Week of January 19-22, 2016 -TEKS

Poetry - Students need to identify and understand the parts of a poem and the figurative language in poems. They also need to glean the general meaning and main ideas as if from a fiction/nonfiction passage.

- This week we we will be focusing on comparing and contrasting poetry with other poetry or a non-fiction passage.

TEK: 5.4 A - analyze how poets use sound effects (e.g., alliteration, internal rhyme, onomatopoeia, rhyme scheme) to reinforce meaning in poems
